At CES 2026, SanDisk introduced an updated line of high-speed SSDs under the SANDISK Optimus™ brand. The lineup includes three drive variants. The base Optimus is aimed at everyday tasks and creative work. Optimus GX is targeted at gamers. The flagship Optimus GX PRO is designed for professionals and users working with resource-intensive workloads.
The changes affect familiar SSD models from the WD_BLACK and WD Blue NVMe families. They are now released under the Optimus brand. The WD_BLACK SN7100 and SN8100 drives have been renamed Optimus GX 7100 and Optimus GX PRO 8100. The WD Blue series has joined the Optimus lineup as the base models. The hardware and technical specifications remain unchanged. The update applies to product names and packaging design.
The rebrand marks the next step for SanDisk following its separation from Western Digital in 2025 and the transition to operating as an independent storage manufacturer. The new series is structured to provide clearer differentiation across performance levels and to make it easier to choose the right option.
The SANDISK Optimus™ line logo uses a two-level structure. The brand name appears in red, while the series designation is set in white type on a black background. The typography conveys a technological image and reinforces SanDisk’s position as a key player in the flash memory market.
