The Safety Co., Ltd. was founded in Busan, South Korea, in 2002 as a subsidiary of NK Co., Ltd. Its parent company began in 1980 as Nam Yang Industry Co., Ltd., producing high-capacity gas cylinders and marine fire-suppression systems. NK later supplied over 80% of South Korea’s fire-equipment market and exported pressure cylinders to more than 70 countries.
Within NK Group, The Safety was assigned global after-sales service, spare-parts distribution, and technical support. It became the sole authorized global distributor of original parts for equipment produced by NK and affiliated companies, including ENK Co., Ltd. and NK Tech. The arrangement connected field service directly with the manufacturer.
The company’s work covers CO2 fire-suppression systems, high-capacity gas installations, and pneumatic or automated equipment for ships. Services include engineering, installation, commissioning, and retrofitting on new and operating vessels. Cooperation with ENK added pressure cylinders for compressed natural gas and specialty gases used in semiconductor manufacturing.
The Safety operates in the same marine-safety market as Tyco Fire Protection, Ansul, SimplexGrinnell, and Korean equipment suppliers. Its network later expanded to representatives in 140 countries. NK Tech Pte Ltd. became a distribution hub in Singapore, while RMS Marine Service Ltd. handled service work in China. The Safety continues to operate from Busan, a center of South Korean shipbuilding and ship repair.
