The International Gymnastics Federation has announced a major rebrand, adopting a new name to emphasize its global reach. From now on, the federation will operate under the name World Gymnastics.
The new name reflects the federation’s ambition to become a focal point for gymnasts, coaches, and fans from all continents. Under the World Gymnastics brand, 165 national federations and millions of participants are united. Gymnastics ranks among the most widespread and spectacular sports disciplines.
The name change is accompanied by the launch of an updated logo centered on unity, inner energy, and freedom of athletic expression. In the coming weeks, the professional community will see eight additional independent visual directions developed for individual disciplines. These include gymnastics for all, men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatics, aerobics, trampoline, and parkour. Each discipline will receive its own visual identity reflecting its specific character and designed to attract new audiences and future athletes.
An exchange of views with gymnasts, fans, and federation partners preceded the preparation of the update. Through these discussions, key priorities for future development were defined. Among them are improving athlete safety, expanding audience engagement, increasing gymnastics’ presence worldwide, and strengthening connections between disciplines within the federation.
Federation President Morinari Watanabe noted that World Gymnastics is becoming a catalyst for large-scale transformations that can create new opportunities for athletes on the international stage. The updated visual identity will be gradually implemented across all communication channels, shaping a unified long-term image of the federation.
