Behavioral Essentials, a company that has been working since 2006 in the field of leadership development and high-performing team building based on behavioral psychology, has introduced an updated visual style. The new logo was created by the Philadelphia-based studio J2. At the core of the project is the aim to showcase the combination of scientific precision and human engagement that underpins Behavioral Essentials’ work.
Previously, the company used a mark that attempted to merge the letters B and E into a single line. The idea seemed intriguing, but the visual execution raised questions. The symbol was hard to read, the form felt imprecise, and the typographic part appeared overly neutral and lacking individuality.
The new Behavioral Essentials mark feels more layered and is associated with the study of human behavior. In the updated version, the symbol can be interpreted in several ways. It can be seen as an eye, a double helix, or the effect of observation through an optical instrument. This ambiguity strengthens the brand’s connection to psychology and underscores the depth of its people analytics.
The wordmark was also revised. The name uses the Rethink Sans typeface from Google Fonts. It appears neutral and friendly due to the soft shaping of individual letters. The characters’ proportions and stroke weights echo the symbol’s form, creating a cohesive visual structure and reinforcing the company’s analytical focus.
The color scheme underwent subtle changes. Blue became more saturated, white took on a creamy tone, and turquoise gained additional brightness. The restrained color system provides a backdrop for smooth transitions and gradients in the brand’s visual materials.
Newsreader Italic complements the typographic system for accent elements, and Atkinson Hyperlegible for the main body text. This combination conveys scientific rigor and is associated with a research environment, evoking visual solutions from biotechnology and analytics.
In its updated look, Behavioral Essentials is perceived as a company that organically combines psychology with practical value for business.
