The Casa Madera logo is an invitation into a world of flavors where Mexican and Mediterranean notes blend in perfect harmony. The restaurant fills the space with warmth and a relaxed ambiance, turning every dish into a small journey and every detail into part of a greater hospitality story.
Casa Madera: Brand overview
Casa Madera was launched in 2021 by Noble 33, a hospitality group already recognized for its popular Toca Madera and Casa Toca restaurants. Founders Tosh Berman and Mikey Tanha chose a historic West Hollywood building and renovated it to blend Mediterranean and Mexican coastal aesthetics. The goal was to deliver a unique dining atmosphere paired with carefully curated cuisine.
Quickly gaining popularity, the restaurant drew attention for its inventive menu, which fused Mexican and Mediterranean culinary traditions. By 2022, Casa Madera had introduced seasonal tasting menus and opened a specialized bar offering original cocktails, thereby expanding its appeal among both locals and visitors. It also participated in key Los Angeles food festivals, boosting its visibility.
In 2023, Casa Madera opened a second location in Toronto, adapting its original concept to the Canadian market. The expansion signaled the brand’s broader international ambitions without compromising the essence established at the original venue.
By 2024, Casa Madera continued evolving its culinary offerings, regularly updating menus with new flavors while consistently maintaining high quality. The restaurant remained influential in West Hollywood, striking a balance between innovation and respect for the original identity established by its founders.
Meaning and History
What is Casa Madera?
This is a restaurant where Mexican and Mediterranean cuisines combine in an exquisite fusion of flavors. The menu features signature dishes made from fresh seafood and premium ingredients, while the open kitchen allows guests to observe the chefs’ craftsmanship. The interior is designed with an emphasis on natural wood, creating a warm and stylish atmosphere. Panoramic windows offer stunning views, and live music adds to the cozy ambiance. Guests enjoy culinary masterpieces, spending evenings in good company with a glass of wine or a signature cocktail.
2022 – today
The creation of the identity for Casa Madera was entrusted to Viceroy Creative, an agency known for its collaboration with Noble 33 and its focus on premium segments of the restaurant business. The agency was tasked with conveying the concept of a “modern home in the forest” through the mark, which was embedded in the establishments’ interiors, and with combining the aesthetics of fine dining with Mexican motifs. The new Casa Madera logo was designed to emphasize the brand’s premium quality and natural character while maintaining a minimalist, refined aesthetic.
The structure is built around a square frame with open sides. The shape establishes an architectural foundation while creating a sense of incompleteness, symbolizing the openness of space. Inside the frame, a graceful tree branch is placed diagonally, growing from the lower corner upward. The branch’s lines are soft and smooth, and its silhouette retains a natural appearance. The image is associated with natural materials and supports the connection to the restaurants’ interior solutions, where wood and textures are used to create an atmosphere of comfort and natural harmony.
The font is executed in a sans-serif grotesque style. It is close to Gotham and Avenir but individualized. The letters are elongated with extended spacing, which gives the text lightness and elegance. The use of uppercase reinforces the brand’s prestige. The complete absence of decorative details in the type system emphasizes the minimalism and modern style of the visual concept.
The main beige-brown shade is closely tied to the interior concept of Casa Madera. It resonates with the wooden surfaces and natural materials used to decorate the halls. The tone is perceived as soft, creating an impression of warmth and complementing the overall ambiance as a space for rest and comfort.
The visual concept developed by Viceroy Creative combines the architectural rigor of the frame with the naturalness of the branch and a modern font. The Casa Madera logo became the expression of the brand’s key ideas, including naturalness, exclusivity, and a modern approach to restaurant space.
