F.C. Como Women, a Serie A Femminile club, has introduced a new visual identity designed by Communion. Since its founding in 2019, the club has grown into a strong presence in Italian women’s football, building a competitive team and a respected academy. The rebrand gives the club a more modern, sophisticated look while staying connected to its roots.
The previous logo followed a traditional football emblem style, with a shield featuring gold and dark blue stripes. While this classic approach aligned with football traditions, it didn’t stand out in an increasingly modernized sports world. The typography was stacked vertically, with “FC COMO” on top and “WOMEN” placed horizontally, creating an unbalanced composition.
The new identity moves away from that rigid structure, replacing it with a bold monogram as the focal point. The emblem features two mirrored “C” s intertwined with an “O,” creating a design inspired by the textile heritage of the Como region. Outlined strokes add depth, giving the mark a layered, structured feel.
The updated wordmark presents “F.C. COMO WOMEN” in an elegant serif typeface, Garda No2, giving it a sense of authority and refinement. The text is arranged in three staggered lines to the right of the monogram, improving readability while making the overall design feel more balanced and distinctive across digital and physical applications.
A subtle but meaningful addition is the inclusion of Roman numerals “MM” and “XXIV,” marking 2024, the year of the rebrand. This detail ties the club’s evolution to a historical reference, reinforcing a sense of progression while keeping the identity timeless.
Another major change is the shift from dark blue and gold to a monochromatic black-and-white palette. This move enhances versatility, making the branding easier to apply across digital platforms, merchandise, and team kits. It aligns with a trend in clubs like Juventus and Inter Milan, where simplified, fashion-forward aesthetics create a stronger, more recognizable identity.
Beyond the logo, the rebranding introduces a structured design system that improves the club’s presentation. The refined monogram, sophisticated typography, and minimalist color scheme create a strong, modern presence that positions F.C. Como Women as a rising force in Italian and European women’s football.
