Finca Sophia has unveiled an updated image and marked a new stage in the development of the Panamanian coffee plantation, known for its high altitude terroir and experimental microlots. The project encompassed the entire brand and sought to rethink the language of form and meaning associated with the coffee’s origin. At the core of the update is the idea “Through the Veil,” which evokes themes of mystery, rarity, and the discovery that accompanies an encounter with the estate’s products.
The work involved a complete rebrand without exception. The team focused on creating a new system of imagery and messaging that conveys a refined luxury and the plantation’s elusive character.
The mark and logo were redesigned as part of this overall approach. The form became more restrained and cohesive, and the peacock image took on a clearer and more ordered appearance. The previous mark looked dense and saturated, with a closed structure and complex internal pattern. The new version feels lighter, the lines have gained rhythm, and the composition has become more open. The symbol retains a familiar motif while offering a different relationship between form and space.
At the same time, a brand communication system was developed. The tone became quieter and more restrained, emphasizing the product’s rarity and a thoughtful approach. The entire visual ecosystem was shaped through work with color, typefaces, icons, and imagery. The elements are united by a shared logic in which textures, tonal depth, and calm visual storytelling play an important role.
The project moved beyond an abstract image and was extended into practical applications. The updated style served as the basis for packaging, labels, farm maps, and other communication materials. Across all formats, a balance between restraint and detail is evident, creating a cohesive, consistent image.
The Finca Sophia rebrand aimed to convey the plantation’s rare nature. The new image conveys its message through subtle nuances, enhancing a sense of exclusivity and respect for the coffee’s origin.
