FUJIFILM Biosciences announced the completion of its rebranding and officially discontinued the name FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific as of January 1, 2026. The new name reflects an expanded presence in the life sciences field, which has long moved beyond the company’s original focus on cell culture media.
The transition to the FUJIFILM Biosciences name is accompanied by the expansion of product lines and services for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as research laboratories. The brand’s activities now cover the entire drug development pathway, from early-stage research to large-scale manufacturing of medicines and therapies. The portfolio includes reagents, specialty chemical compounds, single-use technologies, and products for cell and gene therapy.
The brand update is part of a broader restructuring within the FUJIFILM Life Sciences group that began in 2025. The goal of this process is to strengthen positions in the biosciences sector and simplify collaboration with international partners in the development and production of biological medicines.
Alongside the new name, the company introduced an updated logo. The mark maintains a visual connection to the parent FUJIFILM brand and is built on strict black typography, with the letter I highlighted by a bright red accent. The image conveys a technological focus and a clear structure, aligning with the company’s current areas of activity.
FUJIFILM Biosciences continues to draw on more than 50 years of experience in cell culture systems as its mission expands. The company plans to actively support scientific research worldwide, participate in the development of advanced biotherapeutic products, and contribute to global innovation.
