Mobile.de, Germany’s largest car sales platform, has redesigned its visual identity and unveiled an updated logo and branding developed by the Mutabor design team. Throughout nearly three decades, the brand has firmly established itself in the minds of millions of users; however, changes in the automotive industry and new trends in mobility now require a fresh approach and a more contemporary look.
The brand remains recognizable, yet now appears more modern. Key elements of the previous logo, specifically its orange color and clear typography, have been carefully preserved but reinterpreted. Instead of a frame resembling a car license plate, there is now a compact orange shape accompanied by a distinctive, rounded typeface, communicating friendliness and accessibility. Additionally, the new “m” symbol has become an extra visual element emphasizing the brand’s dynamism and commitment to change.
The color palette was expanded by adding rich purple and light blue shades to the traditional orange, visually separating product categories, improving usability, and appealing to users across all age groups. The new typography is characterized by soft shapes, ensuring readability even at a glance.
The company actively involved employees and customers in the development process to ensure that the brand feels natural rather than forced or artificial, a genuine evolution of the existing platform. The new identity emphasizes mobile.de’s successful history and its readiness to address future challenges, such as electric mobility, car-sharing, and other alternative ownership models.
Mobile.de now aims to become “the most reliable platform for personal mobility,” offering support to users navigating a changing market where environmental issues, flexibility, and efficiency are becoming top priorities. The new visual identity is a bold step in this direction, seamlessly blending the brand’s traditional strengths with innovative approaches.
The rebranding reflects mobile.de’s understanding that brand success depends not only on past recognition but also on its ability to remain persuasive and relevant today and in the future, serving as a trusted guide for millions on their path to personal mobility.
