The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, have introduced an updated identity. The new visual image emphasizes continuity with the main club and conveys the atmosphere of the state’s basketball heritage.
The team presented a series of logos and a unified color palette featuring mountain purple, sky blue, and deep black. The color scheme continues the “mountain basketball” theme introduced by the Utah Jazz and reflects the team’s connection to the local community and the region’s natural landscape.
The primary emblem features a basketball on a purple background with the team’s name written across it. Its design reinterprets the Utah Stars’ mark from the 1970s, when the team played in the American Basketball Association. The second symbol is a falling star, representing players’ rising careers and the club’s role as a stepping stone to the major leagues.
A horizontal wordmark and a circular badge with a star complement the visual system. All elements align with the Jazz brand, supporting the idea of “One Team.” The new “SLC” mark is tilted at a 25-degree angle, a technique also used in the Utah Jazz logo, visually linking the two clubs and emphasizing their shared roots.
Stars President Jonathan Rinehart noted that the updated style reflects the organization’s growth and close partnership with the Utah Jazz. Under the motto “It All Starts Here,” the team continues to develop players, coaches, and staff, strengthening the state’s sports community.
The Salt Lake City Stars intend to continue supporting young basketball players, inspiring fans, and representing Utah and West Valley City with pride both on and off the court.
