New York City Logos and Brands

The city, where eight million residents share the space of five boroughs, is highlighted in a separate section, “New York City,” rather than the state of “New York.” The NYPD, with its shield; the MTA, with its subway symbol; the FDNY; the Brooklyn Nets; and New York City FC, all part of the city’s identity. Milton Glaser’s famous I ♥ NY logo, created in 1977 for a tourism campaign, has become one of the most copied visual symbols in history. The brands in this section represent institutions, clubs, and services operating within the city limits, where the density of brands per square kilometer is one of the highest on the planet.
