Swedish cars Logos and Brands

Two automotive brands that have shaped the world’s perception of Swedish car manufacturing form the “Swedish Cars” section. Volvo, founded in 1927 in Gothenburg and sold to Geely in 2010, built its safety reputation, inventing the three-point seat belt in 1959. Saab, which grew from an aircraft manufacturer and produced cars from 1949 to 2011, brought aerodynamic solutions and turbocharging to the mass market. The bankruptcy of Saab Automobile and subsequent attempts to revive the brand (NEVS, later renamed) added a dramatic chapter. Koenigsegg, with its Jesko and Gemera hypercars, represents the ultra-premium pole. This section brings together brands where Swedish engineering traditions have been realized in cars ranging from family station wagons to supercars worth millions.
