Vast Unveils New Logo and Brand Identity

Vast Logo New

Vast, a company focused on space habitation technology, has launched a new visual identity created by Manual, a San Francisco-based design agency. The updated look aligns with the company’s mission to lead the future of space exploration and develop the next generation of human space stations. Founded in 2021, Vast is headquartered in Long Beach, California, with additional locations in Hawthorne and Mojave. Its first commercial space station, Haven-1, is set to launch in 2025, followed by Haven-2, which is planned to take over after the International Space Station retires in 2030.

Vast Logo Evolution

The previous logo featured an orange star wrapped in a thin ring, symbolizing the organization’s connection to space. The typography had sharp, angular lines, reflecting precision and a focus on advanced technology. The design highlighted the company’s commitment to scientific progress and engineering excellence.

The new logo takes a cleaner, more streamlined approach, using just the brand name without extra symbols. The wordmark has longer, refined letters, giving it a sleek, modern feel. Inspired by NASA’s design style from the 1970s, it blends technical accuracy with a more human touch. The spacing between the “V” and “A” has been tightened for a more unified look, while the “S” now has smoother curves, balancing well with the rest of the letters.

Vast Symbol

The old logo’s sharp, geometric style has been replaced with softer, rounded shapes, giving it a more futuristic and approachable vibe. The new typeface, Owners Medium, draws from the Helvetica era, adding warmth and personality that match the company’s focus on people-centered space solutions.

Manual designed a custom set of bold, futuristic numbers based on the wordmark. These numbers are meant for high-visibility use, helping strengthen the brand’s presence across different platforms. The design system includes linear crosshairs that form rectangular grids, a subtle reference to the fiducial markers used in NASA’s lunar photos from the 1960s. Detail connects future-oriented goals with the rich history of space exploration.

Vast Logo Old

The updated color scheme focuses on simplicity, moving away from the warm orange tones of the past. The shift highlights the typography, making the brand name the central visual feature. Clean lines and balanced proportions create a modern and timeless look, supporting the company’s role in advancing space habitation.

As Vast pushes the boundaries of space technology, the new logo will represent its ongoing journey into the next era of human potential.
