In 2017, the online platform Videovor launched, letting users download videos from sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. Users could conveniently save videos by entering a video link, and the platform primarily supported MP4 downloads.

Videovor didn’t require registration or login and offered its services for free. To simplify downloading, the platform developed browser extensions, especially for YouTube. Special apps were developed for mobile users.

The platform’s design philosophy centers on simplicity, ensuring easy navigation and use. Once videos are uploaded, Videovor archives them in the “Download History” section of its website, allowing users to view previously uploaded files.

In 2023, Videovor will continue to maintain its position by focusing on its core offering: convenient video downloading. However, this approach has not come without potential problems. The service operates in a gray area, as downloading copyrighted content without proper authorization raises legal concerns. The consequences of these potential legal problems are not yet known.
