Channellife: Brand overview

ChannelLife was established in Australia at the start of the millennium by technology journalists and IT industry experts as an online platform covering IT channel sales and distribution.

In 2006, ChannelLife was acquired by Techday, marking a shift towards more extensive coverage. This led to an expanded editorial team producing technology reviews, analytical reports, and exclusive interviews.

Between 2007 and 2010, the publication expanded its regional presence by opening an editorial office in New Zealand. The expansion enhanced relationships with regional IT distributors, hardware manufacturers, and software companies.

From 2011 to 2015, ChannelLife underwent digital upgrades, launching a mobile-friendly site, redesigning its interface, and introducing targeted newsletters for MSP providers, resellers, retailers, and system integrators.

In 2016, coverage expanded into Southeast Asia, supported by partnerships with leading technology conferences, offering in-depth regional insights.

From 2017 to 2019, ChannelLife prioritized publishing analytical content, including market research, trend analyses, and forecasts, with a focus on IT channel sales and evolving business models.

Between 2020 and 2023, the editorial team incorporated industry analysts and technical experts, enriching content with podcasts and video interviews featuring key industry figures.

As of 2024, ChannelLife continues delivering relevant news and market analysis to technology professionals across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.

The publishing group 4Square Media, which created the Chann iLIFE logo, sought to emphasize the project’s digital focus and connect it with the theme of modern communications and technological solutions. The visual concept relies on associations with information flows and the dynamics of the digital environment.

The logo is based on the text part and abstract lines. The name is divided into two semantic blocks: “Chann” and “ILIFE.” There is an increased spacing between them. Their separation carries symbolic meaning. The word “Channel” is associated with digital communication channels, and “LIFE” refers to the life component. The capital “I” in the word “ILIFE” is stylized as the number “1,” which strengthens the digital association. In some versions of the logo, the index “AU” appears, indicating the resource’s regional affiliation.

The typography relies on modified sans-serif grotesques, closely related to Neo Sans. A slight rightward tilt creates an impression of progressiveness. The letters have smooth outlines and soft lines, which form a modern, technological character.

Below the text block are two horizontal lines, intersecting and wave-like in shape. They are associated with data flows and continuous exchange of information in digital networks. The lines do not overload the composition; instead, they strengthen the image of movement and interactivity.

The color style is based on a turquoise shade with a gradient. It connects the brand with technology and reliability. The gradient adds depth to the image and introduces dynamics, making the sign more modern and lively.

The Chann iLIFE logo conveys the brand’s position in online communications and emphasizes its focus on innovative technologies.

2021 – today

Channellife Logo

The rebranding of ChannelLife, carried out by Techday Media, aimed to integrate the Australian and New Zealand versions of the brand into a single system. Previously, there were differences in style and color solutions, and the new logo was intended to eliminate inconsistencies and ensure a unified image.

The basis of the composition became an elongated rectangular block with a diagonally cut right edge. Inside the block is the name ChannelLife, written as one word but divided in meaning through color accents. The first part of the word “Channel” is in white, fixing attention on the theme of communication and information flows, while “Life” is colored light turquoise. The latter shade echoes the rectangle’s right edge and visually links the name to the image of interactivity and live content.

The typography is based on a grotesque font with proportions similar to those of Helvetica Neue and Gotham Rounded. The letters have smooth outlines and strict proportions. The word uses capital “C” and “L,” while the remaining letters are lowercase.

The color palette is built on two shades. The main part of the block is painted in saturated turquoise, symbolizing technology, stability, and reliability. The cut on the right is highlighted in a lighter shade of turquoise, creating depth and adding dynamism.

The new ChannelLife logo reflects a strategy of simplification and clarity. It communicates the company’s course toward minimalism and digital orientation while preserving a harmonious combination of elements.
