Ford Racing Unveils New Logo and Brand Identity

Ford Racing Logo New

Ford Racing brought Ford closer to racing and the track again. The new name replaced Ford Performance and put the focus back on competition, testing vehicles at the limit, and the connection between track models and cars for regular roads. The updated brand was introduced on January 27, 2026, in Detroit. The Ford team, Interbrand, and the company’s in-house designers worked on it.

Ford’s racing history spans 125 years. The timeline starts in 1901, when Henry Ford won his first race in Detroit. In 2015, the company brought Ford Racing, Special Vehicle Team, and Team RS together under the Ford Performance name. Over time, the name began to feel too dry and too long. It connected motorsport with road models less clearly. Research showed that nearly half of the audience still referred to the division as Ford Racing. Returning to the previous name helped restore the connection with fans and the brand’s history.

Ford Racing Logo Evolution

The old logo created distance between Ford Performance and the main Ford brand. The blue Ford oval existed separately, while the Performance wordmark looked like the sign of another division. When used together, the two elements competed for attention. On vehicle bodies, parts, and apparel, the wordmark occupied a large amount of space. The connection to Ford had to be explained by repeating the name.

The new Ford Racing system is built around the Ford oval. In the main logo, it is integrated into the mark and takes the primary position. Next to it is the word “Racing” in a hard-edged, technical style. The logo became shorter, tighter, and easier to use on vehicles, uniforms, screens, and narrow formats where the previous version looked weaker.

The system has three related marks. The main logo keeps the blue oval at the center of the brand. The standalone letter “R” works as a short emblem for vehicles, uniforms, and small applications. The wordmark works well in horizontal formats.

The typeface grew out of the FORD lettering on Raptor grilles. The Ford team, together with Interbrand and type designer Andrew Bellamy, turned the large letters from the front of the Raptor into a full brand typeface. For Ford fans, that source carries weight because Raptor has long been connected with the top tier of the off-road lineup. The new typeface looks industrial, powerful, and athletic, without artificial racing styling.

The letter “R” received its own role. The stripes evoke American racing and turn the mark into an independent badge, akin to the emblems used for powerful versions of sports brands. Ford Racing Blue strengthens the connection with the track. It separates the new image from the heavier blue of the previous system.

The return of Ford Racing changes the brand’s presentation. The new logo connects the oval, the track, Raptor, fan culture, and production cars into one system.
