The Gwinnett Braves logo borrowed from the parent club, the Atlanta Braves, emphasizing the franchise’s unity with a major baseball organization. This was reflected in the identical typography, color scheme, and symbolism.

The team name “Braves” was set in an italic script style replicating the original Atlanta Braves lettering. The typeface featured smooth, rounded lines with thick strokes, loops, and curves, creating a sense of motion and a spirited, baseball-club attitude. The red “Braves” lettering had a sporty character and was outlined in blue, enhancing its visual weight and contrast against white and light backgrounds.

The inscription was combined with a red tomahawk and yellow details on the handle. The tomahawk stylistically reflected the heritage and imagery of the “Braves,” symbolizing fighting spirit, team strength, and baseball’s competitive nature. The contours of the symbol were clearly defined, with a moderate line thickness, ensuring good legibility across both large-scale items and smaller applications.

Above the main composition was the word “Gwinnett,” set in an all-caps, italic, sans-serif font in dark blue. The choice of italic grotesque added formality and reinforced the team’s local identity in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

This change marked a significant moment in the club’s history, as it was the first time a team affiliated with the Atlanta Braves had moved away from the parent club’s name, establishing an independent, unique visual identity.

The name “Stripers” refers to the striped bass, a fish commonly found in Lake Lanier, which is near the team’s home stadium, Coolray Field. Although the chosen name was not initially among the contest’s finalists, it best reflected the regional character and enabled the incorporation of local culture and symbolism into future marketing efforts.

The new visual concept was developed by Brandiose, a San Diego-based agency known for its work with minor league baseball teams. Designers Jason Klein and Casey White created the primary and several alternate logos with strong baseball themes and references to local nature and sporting energy.

The main Gwinnett Stripers emblem features a striking depiction of an aggressive striped bass in motion, metaphorically representing a baseball player’s attacking throw. The fish is illustrated in a distinctive style with exaggerated, flowing lines for strong readability at any scale. It is integrated into the letter “S” from the team name, visually “wrapping” around it in motion.

The logo’s typography has two parts. The word “Stripers” is rendered in large, handwritten script with smooth forms and thick strokes that convey energy and movement. The rounded letterforms evoke the movement of waves or a fish through water. The upper “Gwinnett” text is set in a serif font with sharp, slightly hook-shaped serifs, visually referencing fishing hooks.
