The BrightView Holdings logo conveys harmony and tranquility, symbolizing the company’s expertise in creating and caring for aesthetic spaces. Starting with simple landscaping solutions, the company has evolved to implement increasingly complex projects.

Brightview Holdings: Brand overview

BrightView Holdings grew from two long-established American landscaping businesses. Theodore Brickman Sr. founded Brickman Group near Chicago in 1939, serving commercial properties such as office campuses, shopping centers, and healthcare facilities. In 1949, Burton Sperber started ValleyCrest in North Hollywood. He later built a strong position in landscape construction, resorts, and golf courses. By 2014, both ranked among the industry’s largest companies.

KKR acquired Brickman for about $1.6 billion in November 2013 and completed the purchase of ValleyCrest from MSD Capital on June 30, 2014. The businesses were placed under one holding company, later named BrightView Holdings, with headquarters in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Their different regional operations and corporate cultures initially remained separate.

Andrew Kerin became the first CEO of the combined group but resigned in July 2016. Andrew Masterman took over in November 2016 and completed the transition from the Brickman and ValleyCrest names to a single BrightView brand. On July 2, 2018, the company joined the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BV, raising about $501 million after expenses to reduce debt.

After the IPO, BrightView acquired regional operators including The Groundskeeper and Pro Scapes. Competitors included ABM Industries and ServiceMaster. Masterman left in May 2023, Jim Abrahamson served as interim CEO, and Dale Asplund later assumed leadership. By 2025, revenue had exceeded $2.6 billion, and the workforce numbered over 20,000.

Brightview Holdings Logo

The BrightView Holdings logo represents greenery, fresh air, and nature. The company specializes in landscaping and beautification, so the name roughly translates to “bright view” or “clear outlook.” The name was chosen to reflect the beauty and the neatness of landscapes.

On the left side, the company name is displayed in blue. The font is light and simple, smooth, clean letters with no sharp edges. The first letters, “B” and “V,” are capitalized, while the rest are lowercase, making the name easy and pleasant to read. The name comes from two words, “Bright” and “View.” This signifies that the company enhances spaces, ensuring people enjoy the beauty of their surroundings.

To the right of the name is an interesting green shape. At the top, it resembles the letter “B,” but upon closer inspection, it appears as a leaf or even a small shrub. The lower part of the shape transitions into a downward-pointing arrow. This symbolizes how BrightView cares for green spaces, handling landscaping, lawn maintenance, and design. The leaf-shaped element represents plants, nature, and cleanliness, the core of the company’s work. Meanwhile, the downward arrow indicates that the company works “on the ground,” engaged in landscape design, lawn and park maintenance, and greenery upkeep.

Green is associated with nature, grass, trees, and freshness. Blue represents professionalism, order, and calmness, qualities that reflect the reliability and confidence required for urban infrastructure projects. These colors balance nature and a structured approach within a single logo.

The idea behind the brand name is straightforward: the company enhances outdoor spaces, making them well-kept, pleasant, and comfortable for living and relaxation. The brand was established in the U.S. in 2014 after the merger of two well-known firms, Brickman and ValleyCrest.

The logo is clear in its message: a blue inscription and a pleasant green downward-pointing symbol signifying the ground and plants the company works with.
