FxPro began in 2006 in Cyprus under EuroOrient Securities & Financial Services Ltd, founded by Denis Sukhotin. Cyprus gave the broker access to CySEC regulation. After the country joined the EU in 2004, its license opened the door to clients across the bloc through MiFID. In 2007, when MiFID came into force, FxPro opened offices in Austria, France, Spain, and Russia.

In 2009, FxPro moved into Formula 1 sponsorship, first with Virgin Racing and then with BMW Sauber F1 Team. Its logo appeared on the car’s front wing, mirrors, driver helmets, and team clothing. The campaign linked the broker with a global sport, followed by wealthy and technology-focused audiences.

In 2010, FxPro received a license from the UK FSA (later the FCA) and opened a London office. For a forex broker, the British license carried weight because London was the world’s main foreign exchange trading center. In 2012, the London unit gained permission to hold client funds directly. In 2011, FxPro opened an office in Australia but closed it in March 2013 after new ASIC capital rules were introduced, moving clients to its Cyprus and UK entities.

FxPro later expanded its regulatory base through the FSCA in South Africa, the SCB in the Bahamas, and a Seychelles authorization. In 2018, it signed a long-term Formula 1 partnership with McLaren, after earlier sports deals with Fulham FC, Aston Villa FC, AS Monaco FC, Watford FC, IRC Rally, WRC, Super Rugby, and the AFC Championship. In 2023, it opened a Dubai office for the Middle East and North Africa. Its trading offering is centered on MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and cTrader, an ECN platform that uses the FIX protocol.
