ITA Airways has unveiled a striking embodiment of its partnership with the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympics by putting an Airbus A320 in a unique livery into service. The aircraft, registered EI-DSY, now serves as the official ambassador for the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, combining the airline’s blue with imagery of the Alps and Italy’s national symbols.
The main design element is a series of illustrations created by Emiliano Ponzi. The aircraft’s exterior is a one-off and does not involve repainting the entire airline fleet. Its purpose is to promote the Olympic image during regular passenger flights.
Complementing the aircraft’s debut is the SKYWAY installation, opened in Piazza San Carlo in Milan through mid-March 2026. The structure includes two pavilions in ITA Airways’ corporate colors, with details crafted from natural wood. One pavilion resembles a section of an aircraft fuselage with panoramic windows overlooking a symbolic Alpine view, emphasizing the connection between aviation and the mountainous regions hosting the Games.
In addition, the airline has launched Olympic-themed activities on board. These include a special business-class menu on select flights and themed areas at Rome and Milan airports. Media support for the campaign has been rolled out across various communication channels.
All these elements form a cohesive story about the brand’s role ahead of the largest sporting event. A carefully planned sequence of actions allowed ITA Airways to combine flights and the atmosphere of the Winter Games into a vivid and memorable image.
