The early logo of the Japanese corporation “C. Itoh & Co., Ltd.” was created for a company operating both domestically and internationally. The logo now features the word “ITOCHU,” repeated twice in blue, set in the sans-serif typeface “Impact.” The upper part of the text is cut off at the bottom in a smooth arc, creating an effect of depth and volume. The lower line, by contrast, is shown in full and looks heavier because the letters gradually widen toward the bottom.
Due to the specific construction of the composition, the upper part of the word appears distant. It seems to hover over the lower part, strengthening the impression of perspective.
The updated logo became part of a broader strategy to change the company’s image, accompanying the transition from the previous name, “C.
