Below the symbol was the company name, “ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISES LTD.,” written in uppercase letters. The inscription was set in a typeface closely resembling “Optima.” This type choice gave the inscription a formal tone while keeping it easy to read.

2020 – today

In July 2020, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. introduced an updated brand, “Royal Caribbean Group,” to emphasize its holding-company structure, which brings together several cruise businesses. The new identity, created by the agency “Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv,” preserved continuity with the previous image while gaining modern features.

The updated logo consists of the familiar symbol and the inscription “Royal Caribbean Group.” The symbol is placed at the top and appears as a yellow-gold figure on a dark blue circular background. The shape of the symbol remained almost unchanged, with minor additions.

The inscription is placed below the symbol and set in a typeface with soft, neat serifs, close to “Clarendon.” The first letter of each word is uppercase, while the remaining letters are lowercase. The letters look refined and elegant. The dark blue of the type matches the circle’s color in the symbol, creating a unified perception of the image as a whole.

The new name and updated logo clearly convey the company’s main message, the management of different brands, including “Royal Caribbean International,” an independent cruise line.
