The Coln logo is a visual accent emphasizing the band’s bold character. Their music blurs genre boundaries, turning tracks into special stories. Originating from performances on small stages, this has grown into a powerful sound that reflects the thirst for experimentation and freedom.

Coln: Brand overview

COLN was formed in September 2018 by Lincoln Cortez Velasquez, known as Cong TV. He became the band’s frontman and lead guitarist, joined by Awi Columna on vocals and rap, Joe Herrera on lead guitar, Anthony “Yow” Andrada on bass, and Nins Denso on drums. Their debut single, “Baliw,” was released on September 28, 2018, with an official video that later passed 13 million views on YouTube. The song mixed alternative rock with humor and everyday themes.

In 2019, COLN signed with Universal Records Philippines and released “Pake,” followed by “Nasilaw Sa Dilim,” “Lakas,” and “Kayod.” The band described its direction as a combination of rap and rock, drawing influence from Rivermaya, Razorback, Kendrick Lamar, and Metallica. Its songs focused on work, pressure, persistence, and experiences familiar to Filipino listeners, helping the group move beyond Cong TV’s online audience.

Guitarist Dale Jairus first worked with COLN on “Lakas” and remained connected with the group afterward. Before TP Fair 2024, he officially joined the lineup, expanding COLN from five to six members. The group continued working beside established Filipino acts such as Rivermaya and Razorback while developing a heavier mix of alternative rock, metal, and rap.

In 2026, COLN released two further singles, “Lason” and “Wasak.” By then, the project had evolved from a band Cong TV created with close friends into an ongoing recording act with a larger lineup and releases spanning eight years.

2019 – today

Coln Logo

The band COLN’s logo is aggressive and dark, making it clear these guys aren’t here to play kids’ songs. They’ve blended rap with rock and seemingly set out to create a sound rarely heard before: sharp, heavy, powerful, and hard-hitting.

The name sounds mysterious, its origin unclear, just letters with no obvious meaning, yet it looks brutal and grabs attention. It consists of four letters written in a metallic font that resembles old blades or a knight’s armor, as if forged from a solid piece of metal and slightly scratched in battle. The letters’ surfaces appear scraped and worn, giving off a raw, aged, gritty street feel. The texture is deliberately rough and distressed, matching the mood of their music, which carries the aggression and energy of rock mixed with the rebellious spirit of rap.

The sharp edges of the first letter “C” and the last letter “N” extend into long, jagged spikes resembling claws, sickles, or blades. These pointed angles make the lettering look harsh, almost battle-ready, hinting at their music’s raw, uncompromising nature, packed with intensity and energy. The middle letters “O” and “L” are more even but still have sharp ends and strong curves, reinforcing the aggressive vibe.

Coln Symbol

The background is unusual, with pink and purple shades blending to create an image resembling a starry galaxy, a nebula, or outer space. With this background, the band adds a touch of mystery, fantasy, or the feeling of something vast and unknown. The result is atmospheric and enigmatic, and the contrast between the cosmic backdrop and the metallic lettering enhances the overall impact.

The emblem echoes the style of album covers from metal, punk, or even dark fantasy genres. The band’s aesthetic is bold and heavy, perfect for those seeking loud and intense music. The members of COLN came together to show what a true fusion of rap and rock sounds like, and their logo captures this vision perfectly: raw, sharp, strong, and powerful.
