The Bulleit brand’s history dates back to the 1830s when Augustus Bulleit developed a bourbon recipe in Louisville, Kentucky, notable for its high rye content. In 1860, Augustus mysteriously disappeared while transporting barrels, nearly losing the family recipe forever.
In 1987, his great-great-grandson, Thomas Bulleit, revived the family legacy, leaving a successful law career to found the Bulleit Distilling Company.
