The entertainment industry encompasses film, sports, shows, and talent management, with projects moving from concept to a wide audience. Behind the scenes, companies negotiate deals, organize events, and promote talent globally. The Endeavor logo is associated with a media group that works with artists, athletes, and entertainment-sector projects, managing contracts and career development.

Endeavor: Brand overview

Endeavor Group traces its history back to 1898. That year, Zelman Moses, who emigrated from Germany to the United States, founded the William Morris agency. It became the first major talent representation firm in American show business. In the first half of the 20th century, the company represented silent cinema stars. Among them were Charlie Chaplin and Mae West. By 1949, after acquiring the Berg-Allenberg Agency, the organization had become the world’s largest talent agency.

In the 1990s, Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell founded the Endeavor Talent Agency. The new agency gained market share through modern business practices and partnerships with leading Hollywood actors and directors.

On April 27, 2009, William Morris Agency and Endeavor Talent Agency merged. The result was William Morris Endeavor (WME). In 2014, the organization acquired IMG for $ 2.4 billion. This expanded its business into sports marketing and event management.

In July 2016, WME-IMG purchased the UFC for $4.025 billion. The company became the owner of the world’s largest mixed martial arts promotion. In 2017, the organization changed its name to Endeavor.

In 2021, the company went public on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker EDR. It used part of the proceeds to buy the remaining shares of Zuffa. This gave the company full control over the UFC.

In April 2023, Endeavor announced a merger with WWE. This created TKO Group Holdings, valued at about $ 21 billion. In the combined business, the company received 51 percent of the shares. Vince McMahon and his shareholders retained 49 percent.

Ari Emanuel became the head of TKO. Dana White remained president of UFC. Nick Khan became the head of WWE.

Endeavor Group retains control of TKO. The company manages assets in film, television, music, sports, and digital media. It remains one of the largest global organizations in the entertainment industry.

What is Endeavor?

An American holding company from Beverly Hills that combines sports and entertainment. It was created through the merger of two agencies, later including IMG, and controls UFC and WWE through TKO Group. The talent agency WME works with actors, directors, musicians, and athletes. The company owns sports assets and media rights and organizes events such as Frieze and the Miami Open. 2009 – 2014

William Morris Endeavor Logo 2009

After the merger of William Morris Agency and Endeavor Talent Agency in 2009, WME became the new company’s corporate signature. The agency became William Morris Endeavor Entertainment. The “W” represented William, the “M” stood for Morris, and the “E” preserved the Endeavor name.

Endeavor’s history began in 1995. Ari Emanuel, Rick Rosen, Tom Strickler, and David Greenblatt founded Endeavor Talent Agency in Beverly Hills. The William Morris Agency was founded in 1898. William Morris, born Zelman Moses, founded the New York agency. He began his career representing vaudeville performers.

The combined company continued expanding after the merger. It acquired IMG in 2014 and later became part of the Endeavor group. The Endeavor name, used since 1995, remained within William Morris Endeavor and was represented by the “E” in WME.

The English word “endeavor” refers to an effort, undertaking, or attempt to achieve a goal. Retaining it connected the new company with Endeavor Talent Agency. At the same time, William and Morris continued the other merger partner’s history.

The logo used from 2009 to 2014 consisted of 3 large uppercase blue-gray letters with a cool indigo undertone. The characters were built from elongated strokes with sharp thickness contrasts. In the “W” and “M,” heavy diagonals alternated with thin lines. The “E” combined a broad left vertical stroke with narrow horizontal bars.

The wordmark had a custom typographic construction. Alternating broad and thin sections created a modernist pattern. They distinguished WME from William Morris Agency’s earlier identity, which used more traditional letterforms.

2014 – 2017

A thin vertical line divided the WME | IMG logo into 2 sections. The companies’ names remained on opposite sides. The new corporate signature appeared after a major transaction combining WME’s talent representation business with IMG’s international operations.

WME and Silver Lake agreed to acquire IMG Worldwide in December 2013. The transaction closed in May 2014. Mark McCormack founded IMG in 1960. The company began in sports representation and later expanded into events, media, fashion, and licensing. Following the acquisition, the parent group became WME | IMG. Both companies retained their established names.

The WME monogram appeared on the left. Three large uppercase letters consisted of even strokes with varying thicknesses. Heavy lines alternated with narrow sections to create an elongated geometric wordmark. The style and proportions repeated the William Morris Endeavor logo used from 2009 to 2014.

A thin vertical line separated WME from IMG’s historical emblem. Both sections used a blue-turquoise color with a cool gray undertone. The shared color united the names within one composition, while the divider preserved their independence. For audiences and business partners, the logo represented an alliance between 2 companies with different operations and histories.

IMG differed from the narrow geometric WME letters. The “I” resembled a vertical column with expanded terminals. The “M” consisted of 3 elongated sections resembling diagonal triangular bands. The “G” had rounded contours. Serifs and alternating thin and heavy strokes brought the wordmark closer to Transitional and Didone typefaces. The bands inside the “M” echoed WME’s varying line thicknesses and connected both sections of the logo.

Several months before the transition to the Endeavor name, the WME | IMG logo received a black version. It appeared in 2017 and remained in use briefly before the company was renamed in October.

The composition retained its existing structure. Uppercase WME appeared on the left, IMG stood on the right, and a thin vertical line separated them. The letterforms, proportions, and arrangement remained unchanged. Only the color changed. Black replaced the blue-turquoise shade with a gray undertone across all components.

2017 – 2025

Endeavor Logo

WME | IMG introduced Endeavor as the parent company’s name on October 9, 2017. The new organization united businesses in talent representation, sports, fashion, production, and media. Ari Emanuel connected the renaming with the scale of a group whose operations had expanded far beyond WME’s agency model and IMG’s earlier profile.

Endeavor became the shared corporate brand for WME, IMG, UFC, Professional Bull Riders, Miss Universe Organization, and other companies. WME and IMG continued operating under their established names, while Endeavor became the corporate name for the entire portfolio. It returned to the history of Endeavor Talent Agency, founded by Ari Emanuel and his partners in 1995.

A single black ENDEAVOR wordmark replaced the combined WME | IMG signature. The striped letters and vertical divider gave way to one word in uppercase. Thin even strokes, elongated proportions, and geometric contours formed a formal horizontal line.

The name used a sans-serif style resembling Helvetica Neue Ultra Light and Avenir Light. Tall, narrow letters had generous spacing. The single-line composition presented Endeavor as the parent corporate brand for all divisions within the group.

Endeavor prepared for an initial public offering in 2019 but postponed its stock market debut. A new IPO followed in April 2021. Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc. became the public parent company, while the wordmark continued appearing on the group’s corporate materials.

Silver Lake completed its acquisition of Endeavor Group Holdings on March 24, 2025, taking the company private. Trading in the group’s shares on the New York Stock Exchange ended. The portfolio of representation businesses adopted the commercial name WME Group. It included WME, IMG Licensing, and other assets working with talent, intellectual property, and brands. Endeavor Group Holdings remained the legal form in transaction documents, while the corporate website used The WME Group in 2026.
