2023 – 2025

Liberty Live Group was created within Liberty Media to combine assets primarily connected with Live Nation Entertainment and live entertainment. Investors could buy tracking stocks whose value and performance were tied to a specific part of Liberty Media’s business. In the name Liberty Live Group, the word “Liberty” retained the parent company’s name. At the same time, “Live” referred to live events and the group’s main investment. The word “Group” identified the internal collection of assets and liabilities.

Preparations for the restructuring began on November 17, 2022. Liberty Media’s board of directors directed management to develop a plan to separate the Atlanta Braves and revise the tracking stock structure. After the separation of Atlanta Braves Holdings, Liberty Media completed the distribution of its shares among Liberty SiriusXM Group, Formula One Group, and Liberty Live Group on August 3, 2023. Liberty Live Group received an interest in Live Nation, cash, and other public and private assets previously attributed to Formula One Group. At launch, the group owned 30.2 percent of Live Nation.

From 2023 through 2025, Liberty Live Group remained part of Liberty Media. Its Series A, B, and C shares reflected the economic performance of the group’s assets and liabilities. Liberty Media sought to simplify its tracking stock structure and offer a separate investment vehicle connected with Live Nation. The group’s creation provided a foundation for raising capital for this business area.

Liberty Media unveiled the first Liberty Live Group logo at the Liberty Investor Meeting on November 9, 2023. Its identity referenced both Liberty Media and Live Nation. The black word “LIBERTY” maintained a connection with the parent company. In contrast, the red word “LIVE” referred to live entertainment and the concert business. The red rectangular frame echoed the Live Nation logo. Both brands appeared on a shared presentation slide about the group’s creation and its stake in the concert company.

The main part of the logo was a large line reading “LIBERTY LIVE” in heavy uppercase letters with tight spacing. The black word “GROUP” appeared underneath in a small sans-serif typeface with wider letter spacing. A gap in the center of the frame made room for the lower line. The size difference separated the main name from the group’s status. At the same time, the red outline united both inscriptions. The red-and-black combination distinguished Liberty Live Group from Formula One Group and Liberty SiriusXM Group while preserving its connection to the Liberty corporate family.

2025 – today

The update to the Liberty Live Group name and logo was connected with its conversion into a separate publicly traded company. The plan to separate it from Liberty Media was announced on November 13, 2024. Management expected the change to simplify the capital structure and improve share liquidity. The company prepared the legal name Liberty Live Holdings, Inc. for the future holding company and later incorporated it into the logo.

Before the separation, the company received QuintEvents, sports event assets, and cash. It transferred some of its former investments to Formula One Group. The transaction was completed on December 15, 2025. The following day, December 16, Series A and C shares began trading on Nasdaq under their previous ticker symbols “LLYVA” and “LLYVK.”

The 2025 logo reflected the change in status through its lower line. “HOLDINGS, INC.” replaced “GROUP” beneath the main name. It identified the separate holding company that succeeded Liberty Media’s internal asset group. The large, heavy “LIBERTY LIVE” letters retained their previous forms. Both words became black, including the previously red word “LIVE.”

The treatment surrounding the name changed as well. A red horizontal line beneath the word “LIBERTY” replaced the frame. “HOLDINGS, INC.” appeared on the right beneath “LIVE.” The lower inscription used tall, narrow uppercase letters. Their condensed proportions allowed the legal designation to fit beneath the right half of the main name. The lower line combined the colored rule on the left with text on the right. At the same time, the difference in lettering size kept the primary emphasis on “LIBERTY LIVE.”

The red shade E41D39 maintained the color connection with the previous logo. It had formerly appeared in the frame and was moved to the lower line. The full commercial name occupied the upper section in black.
