The initial SoFi logo featured a minimalist, technically precise style that visually conveyed a sense of community. The emblem consisted of nine circles arranged within a square with rounded corners. Eight turquoise-blue circles symbolized stability, while the ninth gray circle represented individual uniqueness within the community.
The elegant, thin font resembled Proxima Nova Light with slight modifications.
The chosen color scheme reflected openness to new technologies. Turquoise (Hex: #19B3E3) is associated with digital innovation, freshness, and reliability in the financial sector.
The visual metaphor of circles represented the brand’s philosophy: creating a community of mutual support among users of financial products.
2016 – 2019
The new logo retains the main idea while transforming. The matrix symbol lost its outer frame, becoming more dynamic. The layout of the circles changed to emphasize openness. The central gray circle became more pronounced, symbolizing individual uniqueness within the community-oriented model.
Colors shifted focus. Bright blue (Hex: #00AEEF) emphasized a dynamic, digitally operating financial startup. Gray text reinforced the brand’s technological focus and seriousness.
The typeface gained character, similar to FF Mark, with smooth letter shapes. This made the logo friendlier while retaining technological clarity, reflecting the brand’s evolution from conservative finance to open technology.
2019 – today
The update to the SoFi logo served as a clear confirmation of the company’s transition from an ambitious startup to an established player in the digital financial services market. The new version was created in-house with the participation of designer Demyan Kendall and the Wyne Design team. The authors focused on a concise form and a well-thought-out internal logic of the design, emphasizing transparency, simplicity, and equality of clients when using the company’s services.
The wordmark is set in a simple geometric sans-serif typeface. In the inscription “SoFi,” the letters “S” and “F” are visually highlighted, resembling capital letters, while the remaining characters are lowercase. The typography in the SoFi logo is based on a typeface similar in style to Galano Grotesque Bold.
The logo color is a bright blue shade known as SoFi Cyan (Hex: #00A6D6).
The matrix symbol to the right of the name consists of nine circles arranged in a three-by-three grid. In this symbol, six circles are filled with the same bright blue color, while three remain empty, outlined only with a thin blue line. The empty circles occupy the top-right, center, and bottom-left positions, creating a visual rhythm and a sense of order. This circular scheme symbolizes equal opportunities for each client and the absence of hierarchy or privilege among service users.
