The graphic symbol of Paramount+ closely resembles the emblem of Paramount Pictures. This unified branding highlights the connection between the streaming service and the renowned film company since the early 20th century. The new media service has inherited more than just a logo from the historic Hollywood studio—it has gained viewers’ trust and worldwide recognition, as the iconic mountains and stars are associated with a rich cinematic legacy.

At the center of the emblem is a pointed mountain placed within a dark blue semicircle. It is depicted in negative space, with its silhouette formed by a large white area that can be interpreted as snow. It is believed that W.W. Hodkinson, the founder of Paramount, often saw this mountain during his childhood in Utah.

Along the outer edge of the semicircle are 22 five-pointed stars. Initially, these stars were intended to represent the actors who signed contracts with Paramount Pictures in 1914. However, since there were 24 individuals, the number of stars does not align. The semicircular constellation in the streaming service’s logo is a generalized symbol of success and high standards.

At the mountain’s base is the inscription “Paramount+,” rendered in the company’s signature script font. The contrasting line thickness, elegant curves, and slight slant of the letters lend the emblem a sense of sophistication and dynamism. In 2021, the streaming service CBS All Access was rebranded as Paramount+, leading to the relaunch of the brand name originally introduced in 2017. The new logo symbolized the platform’s heightened ambitions, aiming for global reach and a broad audience.

Designers slightly adjusted the emblem’s composition to emphasize the lower text. To achieve this, they changed the proportions of the elements, enlarging the service’s name and reducing the size of the mountain within the semicircle. The shadows forming patterns on the mountain slopes were reshaped and lost some fine details, but this change is less noticeable than repositioning the stars. The arched constellation has been moved from outside the blue semicircle to within it.

The designers had to remove a few stars, as they wouldn’t fit in the confined semicircle. As a result, there are now 13 stars, matching the number of letters in the phrase “Paramount Plus.” The stars symbolize the high-quality content offered by the streaming platform, which includes a variety of TV series, movies, sports, and news programs produced by Paramount Pictures and other studios.

The mountain represents the heights the modern media service aspires to reach. It reflects the pinnacle of possibilities, enabling viewers to enjoy cinematic masterpieces. The “+” symbol conveys the same meaning, emphasizing that this is not just an entertainment service but a platform providing access to exclusive content.

The enlarged word “Paramount” is rendered in a custom script font with bold diagonal strokes. It appears elegant and decorative, especially in the new light blue color (#0064FF), which replaces the previous dark blue shade used in the logo.
